Chris Christensen

Born and raised near Great Falls, Montana, Chris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Montana State University. He went on to earn a certified public accountant’s license, then applied his knowledge and skills during more than 25 years in the homebuilding/construction industry and 12+ years in healthcare. Chris joined the Desert Healthcare District and Foundation in 2014 as the controller. He advanced to Chief Financial officer in 2015 and was promoted to Chief Administration Officer in 2019. In 2024, Chris was hired as CEO to lead the staff and support the board of directors in implementing the District and Foundation’s mission “to achieve optimal health at all stages of life for all District residents.” His duties as CEO are integral to the future of the District and Foundation, as it proposes a ballot measure based on multimillion-dollar hospital lease negotiations and it launches a Coachella Valley-wide environmental health summit.
