Dr. Gemma Kim, currently the Chief Academic Officer for DPMG Health, moved from Texas to the Coachella Valley in 2013 with a vision to establish and grow Graduate Medical Education. During her time in the Coachella Valley, she held the position of Associate Professor at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine, where she served as the Vice-Chair of Family Medicine and founded the University of California Riverside School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program. Following her role transition, she has held the position of Corporate Designated Institutional Official for Prime Healthcare. Throughout her career, she has consistently occupied significant leadership roles, notably as Chief of Staff and Department Chair of Family Medicine at Desert Regional Medical Center.
Together, Dr. Tae and Gemma Kim have championed DPMG Health’s mission to sponsor, advance, and provide charitable healthcare community outreach to the vulnerable populations within the Coachella Valley, including the homeless. They have also played a crucial role in developing the platform for graduate medical education, including medically related research.
Leveraging DPMG Health’s network of diverse primary care and specialty physicians, pharmacists, and allied health providers, they extend healthcare services to patients in urban, rural, and select community settings, with a particular focus on areas facing challenges with healthcare access.
The communities they serve include the homeless, migrant farm workers, refugees seeking asylum, pregnant women without insurance, and students of all ages. DPMG Health offers a comprehensive range of medical services, including primary care, urgent care, women’s and prenatal care, pediatrics, outpatient procedures, inpatient hospital care, street medicine outreach care, immunizations, preventive screenings, HIV and STI testing, health education, pharmaceutical assistance, mental health, and social services.
