Dr. Suellen Hopfer

Dr. Suellen Hopfer is an Associate Professor of Public Health at the University of California, Irvine. She is in the Department of Health, Society & Behavior within the UC Irvine Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health. Dr. Hopfer received her doctoral training in health communication and designing prevention interventions from Penn State University.

Dr. Hopfer investigates how communication phenomena (messaging, narratives, networks) impact health outcomes, risk perceptions, and health behavior change. Dr. Hopfer’s research involves designing, implementing and evaluating communication interventions about environmental health and immunization that are community driven.
