Jimmy Boegle is the founding editor and publisher of the Coachella Valley Independent. He is also the executive editor and publisher of the Reno News & Review in Reno, Nevada. Since founding the Independent in late 2012, the newspaper has won multiple Association of Alternative News Media (AAN) awards and dozens of California News Publishers Association awards. He’s currently the board president of AAN and a former board president of the Desert Business Association (DBA). For his work at the Independent, Jimmy has been honored by the DBA as Outstanding Business Person of the Year and by the City of Palm Springs Human Rights Commission with a Community Service Award. He lives in Palm Springs with his husband, Garrett Dangerfield.
