Michael Wash has more than 20 years of experience in the acquisition, finance and development of single family and multifamily affordable and permanent supportive housing. As Assistant Director for the Riverside County’s Department of Housing and Workforce Solutions, he oversees the work of the County’s Continuum of Care, Housing Authority, Workforce Development Department, Community Action Partnership, and Community and Housing Development Divisions. Michael seeks to leverage public and private investments to radically increase the supply of housing in the region.
To this end under his leadership the County of Riverside has seen a 400% increase in the annual production of affordable housing developed in the County of Riverside. Prior to joining the County, he worked for more than 11 years as a Land Acquisition Project Manager for the Coachella Valley Housing Coalition. Michael holds a BA in Political Science from Stonehill College and a Master of Public Policy and Public Administration from Northwestern University.
