Oscar Ortiz is an immigrant from Mexicali, Baja California. He grew up in Indio, CA, and graduated from Indio High School. He went on to study at Stanford University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry in 2012.

Oscar was elected to Indio’s City Council in 2018 by District 4, which has the highest level of poverty within the city. Oscar has focused his work on providing affordable housing options, providing outdoor recreation, supporting locally owned businesses, and studying sustainability methods to maintain a clean environment for our community.
