Roxana Hurtado Chavez

@ Alianza Nacional de Campesinas

Roxana Hurtado Chavez attended CSU San Marcos and had the privilege of joining Alianza Nacional de Campesinas Team in January 2022 as Regional Organizer in the State of California. Roxana was born in San Diego and grew up in Tepic Nayarit where her Grandfather worked in the fields harvesting beans. Roxana returned to California at 12 years old and presently resides in the West Shores of the Salton Sea. As a leader of her community, she advocates for labor rights of farmworker women and shares information to bring awareness to campesinas and advocates for a comprehensive immigration reform, to end violence against women and builds awareness on the use and misuse of pesticides. Roxana’s focus is making a positive impact through the addition of needed resources for our Farmworker Families and Youth. I have a deep appreciation for Community Building-improving the quality of life of our neighbors-with our neighbors.
