Sabrina Barber is a seasoned Assistant Power Manager at the Imperial Irrigation District, where she has spent 18 years enhancing the Water and Power Departments. In her current role, Sabrina spearheads Business Development and Construction Operations, leveraging her extensive knowledge of energy policy, regulatory frameworks, and renewable energy integration to drive sustainable and equitable outcomes.
With nearly 30 years in the utility industry, including a decade at Southern California Gas Company, Sabrina has developed a deep expertise in energy systems, from Field Operations to Technical Services. Her experience positions her as a leading advocate for the integration of renewable energy technologies, such as solar and battery storage, into existing infrastructure.
Sabrina’s work involves addressing the complexities of integrating these technologies while maximizing their economic, environmental, and job creation benefits. She is well-versed in the challenges and opportunities presented by renewable energy advancements and is dedicated to finding solutions that enhance both sustainability and community resilience.
In addition to her professional role, Sabrina is committed to community service, having served on the executive boards of the Imperial County Office of Education and the Imperial County Continuum of Care. Sabrina holds degrees in English and Business Administration, has completed graduate coursework in Public Administration, and earned a certificate in grant writing and administration.
