Video: Assemblymember Greg Wallis

@ California’s 47th District

Greg Wallis is a third-generation Californian who proudly serves the people of California’s 47th District in the State Assembly. He is focused on the issues that matter to Californians: improving education, protecting public safety, and creating a more affordable environment where more people can join the middle class and live the American dream.

Greg decided to run for office when he and his wife, Desiree, saw too many friends and family leaving the Golden State due to rising crime, struggling schools, and the high cost of living. Fueled by the belief that change was not just possible but necessary, Greg now works to represent all his constituents by bringing fresh, innovative solutions to Sacramento.

Starting as a young man, Greg has served his community. During his formative years, he volunteered as a youth sports coach and assumed leadership roles within his church. Before entering the California Legislature, he served as chief advisor to a local lawmaker where he advocated for more accessible healthcare.

A proud member of the Bi-Partisan Problem Solvers Caucus, he works collaboratively across party lines to ensure that good ideas take precedence over partisan politics. Greg is vice chair of the Arts, Entertainment, Sports & Tourism Committee. He is also a member of the Governmental Organization Committee, Utilities & Energy Committee; Transportation Committee; Jobs, Economic Development, and the Economy Committee; and the Joint Committee on the Arts.

Greg studied political science at California Lutheran University and settled in the Coachella Valley over a decade ago. He and his high school sweetheart, Desiree, live in Bermuda Dunes with their two dogs Gunner and Harley.
